Mothers: Don't Let Education Pass You By
There is no wrong time to prepare for your future. In fact now may be the perfect time to work on your education and other career goals. This is especially true for working, single and stay at home moms. The job sectors that are expected to rise will have many positions available that qualified workers can fill. One obvious area of importance is the technology industry. You're reading this article on a computer, aren't you? Then you know that computers and other tech are crucial in our jobs and society. There are sizable teams that are needed to produce these tools as well as people to provide assistance in using them. Various job market projections list computer software engineering as a hot job for the future. Analysts for network systems and data communications are also expected to be important careers. A second area where analysts believe jobs will open up is health and medicine. In healthcare there is plenty of variety and opportunity. Hospitals and clinics will be seeking therapists and assistants as well as athletic trainers. Some analysts also think behavioral disorder counselors will be highly sought. There are several other fields besides counseling that don't necessarily require a medical degree to practice. Job growth and opportunity is lagging now, but expectations for the future are high. Jobs for qualified financial planners and advisors for businesses, government and individuals will likely be significant. Education is the key to getting a job in any of these areas. If you're a mom reading this, the chance hasn't passed you by to get the proper education for one of these careers. In 2009, President Obama introduced the Grants for Moms initiative. The Obama administration intends to make going to school more appealing and easier to accomplish with the $5,000 scholarship. There are many mothers who could benefit from the opportunity to earn an associate's, bachelor's or specialized degree. Women have plenty of responsibility for caring for children and families, and hopefully the grants for moms can take some of the burden off trying to get an education. Big universities as well as 2-year junior colleges can provide plenty of opportunity for education and career advancement. If you're a mom and you're considering what you would like to do, do some research and find what is right for you.
